The Firehouse To The Fire Floor
This class will take a look at how Fire Departments operate, from the orientation of new members, to Officers leading their crews onto the fire floor. Building a strong foundation in the basic tenets of firefighting, and developing sound principles of fire ground operations, departments can become proficient in their duties of saving lives and property.
Bob has been involved in the Fire Service for over 43 years and is retired from the Fire Department of New York, where he had attained the rank of Lieutenant. Previous to serving with FDNY, he had also been a member of 2 Combination Departments, one on the Career side and one on the Volunteer side, and has also been a member of several Volunteer Departments.
Bob currently serves as the Chief of the Montgomery, NY Volunteer Fire Department and is a Fireman with the Christiana DE Fire Company.
He holds an Associates’ degree in Fire Protection Engineering from Oklahoma State University. He has spoken at the FDIC, Firehouse Expo, Firehouse World, and Firehouse Las Vegas, has been on the Advisory Boards of both Fire Engineering and Fire Chief magazines and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Fire Department Training Network.
Bob has written numerous articles for several trade magazines and lectures around the country on a wide variety of Fire Service issues.
