The Dash Without The Crash

Jake Rixner, T. Cosgrove Jones

If you don’t get there you can’t help anyone.  The whole

process of responding to alarms starts with the checkout of

the apparatus.

This program will start with a discussion on the checkout

procedure of the apparatus and its associated tools and

appliances. What to look for and how what you find would

impact the safe operation of said apparatus.

We’ll discuss response procedures and take a look at traffic laws and how they effect what you do and who is held accountable when they are violated.

From there the program will discuss on scene safety and the roll the engine chauffer.

Lastly, we’ll have a piece of apparatus that the class will conduct pre trip inspections on and see if defects can be found.
